thought provoking question of the day

I came across an interesting, thought provoking question on Facebook earlier today.

how do you define “passé futuristic ways of thinking” in the context of looking at old and new ideas/ knowledge.

so below is my attempt at defining “passé futuristic ways of thinking”..

” i guess it refers to the thinking that has been accepted by the community as where the society should now be heading. where we shall move on from the areas or field of knowledge that has been explored, to a new territory of knowledge. however, that thinking is actually old fashioned and conservative, because even though what we have accepted as the “known” and “learned” is now “knowledge”, it doesn’t mean we have fully understand or maximize the potential of an element/a certain field of knowledge (about economy or of an energy for example). if there is a person who stands up and challenge an existing knowledge with his new ways of thinking/reasoning/proven results, that in a way may deconstruct a thinking/ knowledge that has been accepted, a new way for the society to see an “old knowledge”. Have we been willingly accepting what we’ve been taught as knowledge, and stop questioning the known, then it is what considered as “passé futuristic ways of thinking”.”

what is your definition?
